JYTKY! - A KABOOM!

Näin Suurten Johtajien valintapäivänä haluaisin jakaa oman riemuni kanssanne ja julkaista lisää rumia koulutehtäväkuvia!
Tehtävänä oli ensin tutkia sivustoa http://kimjongillookingatthings.tumblr.com/ ja kopioida kuvaustyyliä omiin kuviin. En sit osannu kopioida salamavaloa niin kopioin vaan hahmon.
Sarjan nimi on "Kim Jong-monde looking at Kallio".

Hi friends!

Because today is a day for Great Leaders (the presidental election in Finland, though it's going to be round two in two weeks! and the exciting thing is that the candidates are a popular right wing -guy and a green party gay -guy against him, like David and Goliath! google for more!) I decided that I want to share my happiness and publish some more ugly photos from my exercises to school!
The idea was first to examine the light in this site http://kimjongillookingatthings.tumblr.com/ and then copy it to your own pictures. Because I didn't know how to copy the light I copied just the person.
The name of this series is "Kim Jong-monde looking at Kallio" where Monde is my friend who is the model in these and Kallio (literally translated as "the rock") is the part of Helsinki where I live.

Liikaa youtubee ja Pinjaa ja ihan liikaa paineita kuvata "hyvä sarja" salamakuvauskurssin tehtäviin joiden ideana on harjoitella nopeaa salamaa ja keskittyä salaman käytön sijaan mm. henkilönohjaukseen, yksityiskohtiin jne.
Tämmöstä sit tuli:


Too much of Youtube, too much of Pinja and way too much of pressure to photograph a "great series" for the flash course. The idea was to practice a fast flashlightning and focus (instead of the flash) on model control, on details etc.
And this is what I got:

Joo tota. Voin puolustautuu kertomalla, että tarkotuksenani oli tosiaan kuvata räkäsiä ja halvan näkösiä ja pelkästään huonoja vaateyhdistelmiä ja rumia vaatteita sisältäviä "muotikuvia". Ne tahrat kennossa oli kurssin vetäjän mielestäki ok ja kommenttina tuli että "näyttää pokkarilla otetuilta" :----)

Well, I can try and defent myself by saying that my purpose really was to photograph cheesy and cheap looking and "with only ugly clothes and bad combinations of them" -themed "fashion shoots". All the stains in the photos looked OK according to my teacher and he also said that these look like taken with a small pocket camera. Nice?

Tattista vaan - Just Tattis

Ku on kaks viikkoo kipeenä ja alottelee tässä kolmatta sairausviikkoa niin ei tee edes mieli päivittää blogia SAATIKKA sit valokuvata. Koskin tänään kameraan ekaan kertaan aikoihin oikeesti jostaki innostuneena mut kuvista tuli rumia. Siks ajattelin ilahduttaa kansaa Toyo Field -palkkikameralla koulutehtävänä kuvattuja matskuja esittelemällä. Aihe oli "Paikka jossa en ole koskaan ollut", käytännössä siis piti mennä johonki Helsingin betonilähiöön. Löysin hyvän.

When you are sick for two weeks and it seems that there's going to be a third one too, then you really don't feel like updating your blog or EVEN taking photographs. Today I grabbed the camera for the first time in ages and I actually was kind of enthusiastic but the shots were really ugly. That's why I decided to delight the nation with material I shot for school with a Toyo Field -large format camera. The title for this excercise was "A Place I've Never Been", practically we were supposed to go to some concrete-suburban area in Helsinki. I found a good one.

LISÄKS nää kuvat oli meikäläisen ekat filmiskannaukset ikinä missään! Normaalilla tasoskannerilla tosin mut filmit oliki 9x12cm ja miun mielestä ihan tarpeeks hyvin onnistuneet skannit. Ei muuta.

AND for the top of all, these pics were the first scanned films I have ever made. With a normal flat scanner but the negatives were sized 9x12cm and I think these scans are quite okay. Nothing else to say.

Harjoteltiin syväterävyyden käyttöä joskus alussa. Niinku aina aluissa.

At the beginning we had to rehearse using aperture. It's always like this in the beginning. Apertures and shutter speeds!

Maailman hienoin kuva | the greatest photo of all times

En taaskaan keksi mitään siistii ja jännää. Sen sijaan ajattelin näyttää maailma hienoimman kuva. Sen on ottanu Neil Armstrong 1969 kuussa kun Buzz Aldrin vähän seikkaili siellä. Ja Neil erikoisvalmisteisen Hasselbladin kanssa.

I don't really have any good ideas to write about so I decided to introduce the greatest photo of all times. It's taken by Neil Armstrong (yeah, that astronaut), year was 1969 and it was taken in moon when Buzz Aldrin and Neil had a little adventure there. And the camera was special-made Hasselblad. How cool is that? Very.

pistin valitukset pussiin ja keskityn huonoihin kuviin ja itteeni enemmän eli vaihdoin siis blogin nimee ja banneriaki kikkailin uusiks. Näppärää. Mielipiteitä saa toki kertoa mut en lupaa ottaa opikseni.

Koetan myös vähän englantia loppuun jotta pari ihmistä lisää vois ymmärtää.

So I decided to translate something from my posts and try to make this blog as understandable as possible. Now you can follow my life and photos, isn't that nice? If someone reads this, feel free to comment and say what you think about the changes. Hope you like it because David Bowie is lovely. So are the Sex Pistols. Nothing more to say this time.

Btw that girl in the photo with that afro-hair is my friend Sonja. She doesn't look always like that. Just sometimes.
